چکیده

An exceptionally intense gamma-ray burst, GRB030329, was detected and localized by the instruments on board the High Energy Transient Explorer satellite (HETE) at 11:37:14 UT on 29 March 2003. The burst consisted of two ∼10s pulses of roughly equal brightness and an X-ray tail lasting >100s. A New Astrophysical “Triptych”: GRB030329/SN2003dh/URCA-2

We analyze the data of the Gamma-Ray Burst/Supernova GRB030329/SN2003dh system obtained by HETE-2 (gcn [1]), R-XTE (gcn [2]), XMM (Tiengo et al. [3]) and VLT (Hjorth et al. [4]) within our theory (Ruffini et al. [5] and references therein) for GRB030329. By fitting the only three free parameters of the EMBH theory, we obtain the luminosity in fixed energy bands for the prompt emission and the a...

Gamma - Rays 1 Properties of Gamma - ray Bursts Localized by the HETE − 2 Satellite

The high energy transient explorer 2 (HETE−2) is a small spacecraft designed to detect and localize Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) in wide field of view. HETE−2 have been localized about 20 GRBs per year. About 30% of localized GRBs have softer spectrum than that of ordinary GRBs, and they are classified in X-ray flash (XRF). We report features of XRFs detected by HETE−2 in this paper. A unique featur...

HETE Observations of GRB 010921

On September 21 at 18950.56 SOD (05:15:50.56) UT the FREGATE γ-ray instrument on the High Energy Transient Explorer (HETE) detected a bright gamma-ray burst (GRB). The burst was also seen by the X-detector on the WXM X-ray instrument and was therefore well-localized in the X direction; however, the burst was outside the fully-coded field-of-view of the WXM Y-detector, and therefore information ...

Probing for Leptonic Signatures from GRB030329 with AMANDA-II

The discovery of high-energy (TeV-PeV) neutrinos from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) would shed light on their intrinsic microphysics by confirming hadronic acceleration in the relativistic jet; possibly revealing an acceleration mechanism for the highest energy cosmic rays. We describe an analysis featuring three models based upon confronting the fireball phenomenology with ground-based and satellite...

The X–ray afterglow of GRB030329 at early and late times

Thanks to its extraordinary brightness, the X-ray afterglow of GRB030329 could be studied by XMM-Newton up to two months after the prompt Gamma-ray emission. We present the results of two XMM-Newton observations performed on May 5 and 29, as well as an analysis of the Rossi-XTE data of the early part of the afterglow, discussing in particular the stability of the X–ray spectrum and presenting u...
